Für den Textband: Es ist dies die definitive Original-Ausgabe, die nicht im Handel war. Sie erschien in 212 Exemplaren: 12 auf Japan, 100 auf Vergé und 100 auf Vélin. Vorliegend ein Exemplar auf Vélin, vom Autor numeriert, signiert und mit einer umfänglichen handschriftl. Widmung versehen ("Au Général d'Osnobichine, bibliophile et ami des artistes devant qui je ne rougis point d'avoir été si jeune et d'avoir, en ce temps-lá, publié ce livre. Edmond Haraucourt. Edition de 1883. Deuxième série. N°30. Bibliophiles du Cornet"). General d'Osnobichin wurde nach einer glänzenden militärischen Laufbahn Maler und hielt sich in Künstler- und Schriftstellerkreisen auf. Er gehörte, wie auch Georges Villa, zu den ?Bibliophilen du Cornet". Broschur leicht gebräunt, gutes Exemplar. Dutel 444; Pia 709; Gay II, 787 (",très rare"); Galitzin 896. --- . Zu diesem Werk schuf Georges Villa 1930 einen erotischen Zyklus von 12 handkolorierten Lithographien in nur 60 numerierten Exemplaren. Vermutlich war diese lithographische Suite (die nicht identisch ist mit den Illustrationen zu der Ausgabe "À l'enseigne de bibliophallus"!) den Mitgliedern der ?Bibliophilen du Cornet" vorbehalten . Jede Lithographie von Villa monogrammiert und numeriert. Die Suite vereinzelt leicht fingerfleckig. Schuber und Decke berieben und bestossen. Diese sehr rare Folge von George Villa nicht bei Dutel oder Pia. --------------- Pour le vol. de texte: in-8, broché. Édition originale avéc l'achevé imprimer du 15 avril 1883. Celui-ci est 1 des 100 sur vélin avec envoi autographe signé d'Haraucourt au crayon : "Au Général d'Osnobichine, bibliophile et ami des artistes devant qui je ne rougis point d'avoir été si jeune et d'avoir, en ce temps-lá, publié ce livre. Il est ajoutée une suite de 12 lithographies coloriées à la main sur japon de Georges Villa, monogrammées et numerotées 35/60, sous chemise comprenant la table des gravures. Cette suite rare a été publiée en 1930. L'ensemble de texte et suite dans chemise et etui (frottés). L'édition originale de texte et la suite légèrement bruni, sinon beaux exemplaires. Rare ensemble, vraisemblablement, cette suite lithographique (qui n'est pas identique aux illustrations de l'édition "À l'enseigne de bibliophallus"!) était réservée aux membres des "Bibliophiles du Cornet". Dans une lettre, Haraucourt se plaignait des plagiats : "Vous savez que ce malheureux bouquin fut plagié plus de vingt fois par des forbans qui le rééditaient en cachette (...) Et certains aussi, ont agrémenté leur édition d'eaux fortes que je réprouve? Vous êtes donc le seul, Georges Villa, mon cher ami, le seul dont la collaboration m'agrée, et vos douze lithographies sont les seules illustrations auxquelles j'ai applaudi". ------------------ [Villa, Georges] - [Haraucourt, Edmond]. Regarding the text volume: This is the definitive original edition, which was not available commercially. It was published in 212 copies: 12 on Japanese paper, 100 on vergé and 100 on vellum. The present copy is on vélin, numbered, signed by the author and bearing an extensive handwritten dedication (?To General d?Osnobichine, bibliophile and friend of artists, before whom I am not ashamed to have been so young and to have, at that time, published this book. After a distinguished military career, General d'Osnobichin became a painter and moved in artistic and literary circles. Like Georges Villa, he was a member of the ?Bibliophiles du Cornet?. Softback slightly tanned, a fine copy. Dutel 444; Pia 709; Gay II, 787 (?very rare?); Galitzin 896. --- In 1930, Georges Villa created an erotic series of 12 hand-coloured lithographs for this work, produced in a limited edition of just 60 numbered copies. It is likely that this lithographic suite (which is not to be confused with the illustrations for the edition ?À l'enseigne de bibliophallus?!) was reserved for the members of the ?Bibliophiles du Cornet?. Each lithograph monogrammed and numbered by Villa. The suite has occasional light foxing. Slipcase and cover rubbed and bumped. This very rare series by George Villa is not listed in Dutel or Pia.
