Mit den acht gestochenen Tafeln. - Eleganter Führer zu den Sehenswürdigkeiten des Shakespeare-Städtchens Stratford-on-Avon. - Der ausführlichere Titel lautet: "History and Antiquities of Stratford-Upon-Avon: Comprising a Description of the collegiate Church, the Life of Shakespeare, and Copies of several Documents relating to him and his Family, never before printed; with a biographical Sketch of other eminent Characters, Natives of, or who have resided in Stratford. To which is added, a particular Account of the Jubilee, Celebrated at Stratford, in Honour of our immortal Bard [...]. Embellished with Eight Engravings". - Mit einer Subskribentenliste auf den Seiten 211 bis 229. --- Beiliegend 1.: Abschrift von alter Hand einer Inschrift auf einer Gedenktafel der Stratforder Kirche (4 Seiten auf blauem Briefpapier eines Hotels in Wootton Bassett, 17,5 x 11 cm, mehrfach gefaltet). - Beiliegend 2.: Eintrittskarte zur Kirche von Stratford, handschriftlich datiert 26/8/87 (1 Bl., 11 x 17 cm). --- Der elegante Halblederband stammt von dem Handbuchbinder William Georg's Sons in Bristol und trägt eine entsprechende Buchbindermarke auf dem vorderen Spiegel. Auf dem vorderen Spiegel außerdem das Wappenexlibris des Pädagogen Charles Francis Wyatt (1820 bis 1906 das Exlibris zeigt einen Vogel Strauß mit Hufeisen im Schnabel, darunter das Motto "Contemptis Loris"). Auf dem vorderen fliegenden Vorsatzblatt verso eigenhändiger Besitzvermerk Wyatts aus dem Jahr 1873, außerdem ein jüngerer handschriftlicher Besitzvermerk; außerdem ein montierter Ausschnitt aus einem Antiquariatskatalog (mit Kommentar zum vorliegenden Werk: "This esteemed work is now very scarce. It includes an excellent life of Shakespeare with a quantity of matter relating to his family: a very circumstantial account of the Jubilee; and its comprehensive treatment of the noteworthy antiquities of the town, and its brief biographies of Stratford worthies, might well be cited as a model of its class"). - Innen sehr dezent fleckig. Gepflegtes, wohlerhaltenes Exemplar in sehr attraktivem Einband.
