Description of the village of Hakone near the Mount Fuji. The plates are after photographs of one of the most famous photographers Japans Kazumasa Ogawa (1860-1929). He was studiiing in Japan and in the U.S.A. Ogawa was the first Japanese to rpoduce collotype prints in the country in 1888., four years after returning from Boston having learnd the most advanced photographic techniques there. - Especially spectacular are the two views of Mount Fuji.- Spine carefully renewed, some minor rubbing, otherwise fine.
