Seine beiden Hauptwerke "Il Prencipe" (EA 1597) und "Il Seminario" (EA 1613) in einem Band.- "Girolamo Frachetta was born in Rovigo in 1558, where he studied the humanities with Antonio Riccoboni. He then became a philosophy student of Francesco Piccolomini in Padua. After graduating in law, he placed himself at the service of Cardinal Luigi d'Este in Rome during the period 1582 to 1586, where he worked for Cardinal Scipione Gonzaga and the Duke of Sessa, the Spanish Ambassador at the pontifical court. For unknown reasons he was forced to abandon Rome and take refuge in Naples, where he was taken in by the Viceroy, Count of Benavente, who assigned him an annual salary. In Naples, during the period 1611 to 1617, he was agent to the Duke of Urbino and here he died in 1619".- Innendeckel mit Schildchen.
