Beschreibung:
8°., 99 pp., engarved title with nice border. Contemporary half-vellum with label to spine de Backer-S. VII, 1973, 3. Uncommon work, published in at least two variants in the same year and also in 1792 by the Swedish jesuit Lorenzo Ignazio Thiulen (1746-1833). It is a response to the book by Saverio Scrofani with the title "Tutti han torto, ossia Lettera a mio zio sulla rivoluzione di Francia" which was published in 1791. Thiulen shows how under the false promise of liberty all sorts of negative consequences of the new regime are being justified. He had entered the society in 1770 and lived in Bologna, the text is in Italian.
Bemerkung:
- Endpapers with small old notes, binding a little dusty, else inside clean and fine.
