Bemerkung:

Cover slightly rubbed, otherwise good and very clean. - From the text: The Tuareg are seminomadic, pastoralist peoples of North African Berber origin. They have always stimulated both scholarly and popular curiosity due to their nomadic lifestyle in a very harsh environment (the Sahara Desert is often called the ?Sea of Silence?), to their exotic appearance (they are known as the ?blue men?1 or ?people of the veil?), to the independence and high status they accord women, and to their hostile behavior during French colonial rule (Keenan 1977, 7-12). Today, the Tuareg ? who once controlled the caravan trade routes across the Sahara ? number approximately 1.3 million and live in southern Algeria, southwestern Libya, Mali, and Niger, as well as in neighboring countries, such as Mauritania, Burkina Faso, and Nigeria.
