Bemerkung:

The complete set of this rare journal with the always missing last two numbers of the third year, no. 1 March 20th 1891 and special numb er from March 5th 1891. Satirical literary journal headed and illustrated by Adolphe Willette. Each issue consists of 2 folio-leaves with a lithograph by Willette on the first page and caricatures on the third page. The journal includes poetry, advertisement, news, etc., but the real value lies in the illustrations, done exclusively for it by Willette. - Adolphe Willette was an inseparable part of Montmatre, where he was responsible for the decoration of a number of cabarets, bistros and the famous Moulin Rouge. A painter first and foremost, he exhibited at the Chat Noir, having helped to found it. Later he worked with a nuber of newspapers, including le rire and Assiette au beurre, before establishing le PÜierrot. - Ocassionaly some light foxing. - Very rare with the last two issues.
