Erste Ausgabe - first edition - dieser klassischen und frühen Darstellung zur Prostitution in Japan. Sie erschien in der ersten Auflage noch ohne Nennung des Autors. Neben mehreren Abbildungen im Text illustriert mit 20 Abbildungen auf Tafeln. Diese als Doppeltafeln in s/w und farbig, ein Faltplan, eine Fotografie und einige gefaltetete und ausklappbare kolorierte Lithographien. Der Einband berieben und etwas fleckig. Buchblock gelockert und an den Vorsätzen gebrochen. Schnitt angeschmutzt. Titel mit Besitzvermerk. Eine Tafel falsch eingefügt (auf S. 172 statt 192). Vgl. Hayn-Got.
