Honey) was born in England. She studied Chinese at the Schoof of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, from 1961?65 and did post-graduate studies in the teaching of English as a foreign language at the Institute of Education at the same University. In 1961 she accepted Islam and took the Muslim name of Aisha. In 1966 she took up appointment at the School for Arabic Studies, Kano, Nigeria, as a teacher of English. Two years later she married Sheikh Ahmed Lemu (now Grand Khadi of Niger State, Nigeria). She was Principal of Government Girls' College Sokoto from 1968?1976 and Principal of Women Teacher's College Minna from 1976?1977. She taught Islamic Studies throughout these periods and wrote several books and articles on Islamic topics. She is now engaged in full-time Islamic work under the Islamic Education Trust, Minna, including the Organisation of a Weekend Islamic School for primary school children. This book, Methodology of Primary Islamic Studies, is an entirely new and comprehensive approach to the teaching of Islamic Studies in Primary Schools. The book may also be useful for Post-Primary school teachers. The book is based on a broad and dynamic concept of teaching this subject, and suggests practical methods for the teaching of Islamic Studies.
