Contemporary full calf with richly gilded spine Only edition of this uncommon geographical dictionary by the genealogist and historian Louis Chasot de Nantigny (1692-1755) from Saulx-le-Duc in Burgundy. He gives first an overview by continents (including a chapter on the coutries in the Americas), followed by a description of miltary orders and a longer list "de toutes les abbayes de France". The second part is an alphabetical dicitonary of places that refers back to the descriptions in the first part.
