Uncommon collection of early Christian texts including the first edition of the "Commonitorium" of Saint Vincent of Lérins, the anti-Pelagian treatise of St. Phoehadius and several books by St. Faustus. "Fine copy of a scarce book containing a number of valuable texts not easily found elsewhere, thus e.g. the curious poem: De mortibus boum (on a cattle-plague stopped by Christian prayer not pagan sacrifice) by Sanctus Severus Endeleichus." (Goldschmidt List3-237a - this very copy offered in 1932). - Endpapers with some shadow from the glue, later engraved bookplate, inside clean, very slightly rubbed, very nice and elegant, De Thou's copy with his first arms (before his marriage).
