Beschreibung:

circa15,5 x 13 cm., 16 pages (including cover) with 7 (1 double-page) illustrations in colour. Original softcover Small but very elegant and apparently rare brochure entirely designed by the French illustrator and artist Paul Iribe (1883-1935) who established a very influential art deco style that was particularly important for the fashion of the time. He worked for Paul Poiret and was for several years the lover of Coco Chanel. - Here he designed a particularly elegant booklet advertising the French overnight trains. The whole magazine is in dark blue with text in white, the illustrations show a train at night driving over a steel bridge, a map of Europe and northern Africa with the most important lines, a bench at the train station, a rail carriage, a pair of pretty little red slippers in front of a curtain, a bed in a railway compartment and a scene at the platform with passengers, a porter and the conductor in dark blue uniform.

Bemerkung:

- Nice, vey slightly rubbed, clean - very charming design.
