Contemporary vellum with 19th cent. label to spine IT/ICCU/BVEE/011647. Pretty illustrated Italian edition of the works of Vergil, translated by humanists. Here with a new dedication by the printer Farri to Angela Bonamini from september 1567. With a biography of the poet by Tommaso Porcacchi, the Bucolica translated by Andrea Lori, the Georgica by Bernardino Daniello and each book of the Eneid by a different translator, including Lodovico Domenichi who in other Farri editions is mentioned as general editor (not here).

Bemerkung:

- Some browning, only little spotting but mostly clean inside. Title with small owner s inscription on the back, last white endpaper with a tavke of the translators in a modern hand. Binding a little dusty and just slightly rubbed, altogether nice.
