Complete set of all three large ornamental works by the Milanese architect and teacher Giocondo Albertolli (1742-1839), published as a reference work for neoclassical design mainly in large buildings but including also furniture, drapery, studies of eagles and human heads etc. The first series dedicated to Giuseppe Piermarini includes decorations for stucco ceilings Albertolli designed for Villas in Monza and Milano. The second part is dedicated to Johann Joseph Wilczek and has several designs for interiors as well as studies after antique monuments. The third is dedicated to Lodovico Visconti, marchese di Lomagna and aims mainly at students trying to give them models of exemplary design or subjects for drawings. There are several studies of an eagle, some in red, also in red a mask of the famous Medusa. - "Nicht minder als durch seine Bauten wirkte Albertolli durch seinen Unterricht an der Akademie und die von ihm herausgegebenen Werke mit ornamentalen Zeichnungen. Zum Teil sind dieselben zur Ausbildung der Schüler eigens entworfen, zum Teil der Ornamentation des Palazzo Reale in Mailand und der Villa zu Monza entnommen." (Thieme-Becker). - Loose plates with small holes to left margin (had apparently been sewn with a thread), only the first title a little dusty, else mostly clean and nice.
