Warnecke 1821. Der Eigner war Diakon und Prediger bei St. Elisabeth in Breslau. "This is the bookplate of Hieronymous Scholtz (1723 - after 1807), a deacon and preacher at the church of St. Elizabeth at Breslau (Wroc?aw). This is one of two bookplates that appear in the Brisman collection. It was made by engraver Johann Bartholomeus Strachowsky the Younger of Breslau. It features Scholtz?s initials, H.S., and the Latin phrase 'Vratislaviae ad aedem S. Elis: Ecclesiastes,' which means 'Breslau at the Church of St. Elisabeth: Preacher'. At the bottom of the bookplate, below the intricate drawing, are the engraver?s name and an abbreviation for the city of Breslau. This particular bookplate was produced in 1780.
