circa 23,8 x 16 cm., Engraved title, 1 plate, 1 f., 30 pages of music - engraved title, 1 plate, 40 pages of music. Original blue cardboard with printed title and adverts on covers Fetis, Biographie des musiciens VI, 345f. Parts 2 and 3 of 4 from the pretty and rather rare music lessons of the Directeur de l Academie de Musique in Brussels Joseph Henri Mees (born 1779), son of the singer Henri Mees and grandson of the composer Ignaz Vitzthumb who taught him from his early childhood on. He began to conduct orchestras at the age of seventeen and founded the musical academy in Brussels where he returned after many travels through Europe in 1816. - The plates show a teacher with young singers and a group of musicians on a square in Brussels. The scores give many songs, some composed by Mees himself, some adapted. - Parts 2 and 3 only, without the issues 1 and 4!.
Bemerkung:
- Minor browning, little spotting, bindings with small stains to the spines, a little rubbed but else nice, inside mostly crisp.
