Contemporary mottled half-calf with gilt spine and two gilt labels Large documentation about the painter Antonio da Correggio (Antonio Allegri; 1489-1534); not in Brooks. With many contemporary documents from the archives, letters by friends and patrons, relations about the town Correggio (Emilia-Romagna), fellow artists etc. The historian Luigi Pungileoni (1765-1854) taught at the universities of Urbino and Rome. - This copy does not have the two plates showing frescos in volume two that seem to have never been bound in (price decidedly reduced for this reason). Otherwise a very nice set from the library of the princes of Fuerstenberg in Donauseschingen with their armorial stamp on the titles.

- Only very minor browning, just a little rubbed. Very nice and decorative set.
