circa 18 x 11 cm., many thousand pages with 56 engraved vignettes on the titles and numerous engraved illustrations in the text by Dall'Acqua, Baratti, Zuliani, Daniotto and others. Contemporary half-calf with richly gilt spine and decorated labels Brunet IV, 385; Gamba 2697. Complete set of this beautiful series of the major (and minor) Italian authors up to the end of the 18th century, from Dante to Frugoni, famous also for the many pretty little engraved scenes that illustrate the text. The collection is a magnificent display of Venetian book illustration of the second half of the 18th century and shows the whole range of engravings the editor Zatta had in store - "Per gli amatori del libro illustrato veneziano è un poco l'enciclopedia della vignetta zattiana" (Morazzoni, p. 247).

Bemerkung:

- Only minor browning, little spotting or foxing in some places but mostly quite clean, bindings a little rubbed or with minor traces of use, altogether fine and very decorative.
