Champs; original wrapper bound in) Rare encomium about billards, "le roi des jeux" with two engravings by Maxime Lalanne that show players at a snook er table and sitting at a table playing cards. - This copy with a manuscript dedication by the engraver Maxime Lalanne to the journalist and music critic Marie-Pierre-Pascal-Yves Escudier (1809-1880). Bound in is also a longer manscript letter by Escudier from 1861 (two pages, on paper of the journal "L Universel"). - The bound original wrapper soiled, else inside only minor browning, binding rubbed. - Curious ensemble of a rare book with an autograph.
