Bemerkung:
Umschlag berieben, sonst gutes Exemplar. - This book is based on the author's own collection - a collection made up, not of museum pieces for investment's sake, but of varying examples tracing the history and development of coloured Victorian decorative glass. The thirty-two pages of colour, photographed by Angelo Hornak, cover hundreds of specimens of the type which can still be discovered and afforded by enthusiasts browsing in antique and second-hand shops. The items are captioned in detail and emphasis is placed on the progression of designs and the characteristics of particular companies and individuals to help in identification. Over one hundred examples of trademarks are included, plus a chapter on identification characteristics and an index to designs, all planned to aid the collector when buying or help identify inherited pieces with no known history. There is a short history of notable glassmakers and glassworks, including those with American connections as so much British glass has found its way to the United States. ISBN 0706359666
